These adorable mummy-themed pigs in a blanket feature a creamy cream cheese filling and mustard eyes, ready in under 25 minutes. Perfect for Halloween parties, they’re a crowd-pleaser that even skeptics will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 24 little smoked sausages (e.g., Hillshire Farm Lit’l Smokies)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Ketchup or marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, finely chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls and unroll the dough onto a cutting board. If using perforated dough, press the seams together to form one solid sheet. Cut the dough into 24 thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide each.
  3. Place the cream cheese in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 10-15 seconds until soft but not melted. Stir until smooth.
  4. Take one strip of crescent dough and spread a thin layer of cream cheese along the center. Place one little smoked sausage at one end of the strip. Wrap the dough strip around the sausage, overlapping slightly, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Press gently to seal the end.
  5. Arrange the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each. Position them with the face gap facing up.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the crescent dough is golden brown and flaky.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes.
  8. While still warm, use a toothpick to dab two small dots of yellow mustard on the exposed sausage face to create eyes.
  9. Serve immediately, optionally with dipping sauce and garnish.

Notes

Don’t overfill with cream cheese to avoid sogginess. Cut dough strips evenly for consistent baking. Leave room for the face when wrapping. Best served within 15 minutes of baking. Can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking. For freezing, assemble unbaked and freeze, then bake from frozen adding 2-3 minutes.
