Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large wooden cutting board or serving platter (at least 18 inches long)
  • 2 cups black olives (pitted)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries or cherries
  • 1 cup roasted salted almonds
  • 810 rectangular shortbread cookies
  • 1/2 cup black decorating icing
  • 1/4 cup white royal icing
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (Oreo crumbs)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted almonds
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 8 oz brie cheese wheel
  • 6 oz sharp cheddar cheese (cut into cubes or small wedges)
  • 6 oz prosciutto
  • 6 oz salami
  • 4 oz pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup gummy worms
  • 1/2 cup candy eyeballs (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Black grapes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tombstones: Take shortbread cookies and pipe ‘RIP’ on each using black decorating icing. Add details with white icing if desired. Let sit for 10 minutes to harden.
  2. Make the chocolate dirt: In a small bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs, finely chopped toasted almonds, and cocoa powder. Mix well.
  3. Arrange the base layer: Scatter the chocolate dirt mixture across the bottom third of the cutting board. Place black olives and dried cranberries around the edges.
  4. Place the cheeses and meats: Position the brie wheel in the center. Arrange cheddar cubes around the brie. Fold salami into rosettes and place in clusters. Drape prosciutto in loose folds. Place pepperoni slices in a small pile.
  5. Insert the tombstones: Press the shortbread tombstones into the chocolate dirt at various angles.
  6. Add the creepy decorations: Tuck gummy worms into the dirt. Scatter candy eyeballs. Place black grapes in small clusters. Stick fresh rosemary sprigs into the dirt.
  7. Final touches: Sprinkle pumpkin seeds over the entire board. Add more dried cranberries for color. Adjust as needed.

Notes

Let brie come to room temperature before assembling. Prep all ingredients before starting assembly. Keep extra ingredients on hand for refreshing the board. Imperfect tombstones look more authentic.
