Healthy Halloween Veggie Spider Web Tray: 5-Step Easy Dip

Healthy Halloween Veggie Spider Web Tray - featured image

A fun and healthy Halloween snack featuring crisp vegetables arranged around a creamy ranch dip designed to look like a spider web. This easy, no-cook recipe is perfect for parties and kids.

Ingredients

  • Celery Sticks (fresh, crisp stalks cut into uniform lengths)
  • Carrot Sticks (peeled and cut into batons)
  • Red Bell Peppers (cut into thin strips)
  • Cucumber Slices (thinly sliced rounds or sticks)
  • Cherry Tomatoes (whole or halved, optional)
  • Greek Yogurt (plain, non-fat or 2%)
  • Ranch Seasoning Mix (standard packet of dry ranch dressing mix)
  • Milk (splash to adjust consistency)
  • Garlic Powder (optional)
  • Dill Powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash all vegetables thoroughly and pat them completely dry with a clean towel or paper towels.
  2. Cut celery into 4-inch sticks, peel and cut carrots into similar sticks, slice bell peppers into thin strips, and slice cucumber into rounds or sticks.
  3. Arrange the vegetables on a large platter in a circular pattern, leaving the center empty for the dip.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and dill powder. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until the dip reaches a consistency that is thick enough to hold the web design but thin enough to drizzle.
  6. Spoon the ranch dip into the center of the veggie platter and smooth it into a round mound.
  7. Fill a ziplock bag with the dip and snip a tiny corner off.
  8. Drizzle a straight line across the dip, then another perpendicular to create a cross.
  9. Create curved lines connecting the outer edges to the center in a continuous spiral motion to mimic a spider web.
  10. Place a black olive slice or small piece of dark chocolate in the center for the spider.
  11. Chill the tray in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure vegetables are completely dry to prevent the dip from becoming watery. If the dip is too stiff to drizzle, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes. For a gluten-free option, use a certified gluten-free ranch seasoning packet. The dip can be made up to 3 days in advance.
