This Enchanting Purple Witch’s Brew Halloween Punch is a quick, stunning, and crowd-pleasing drink with a mysterious deep purple color and sweet-tart flavor that kids and adults both love. Perfect for Halloween parties, it comes together in about 10 minutes of active prep and can be made ahead.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups pineapple juice (unsweetened works best)
  • 4 cups lemonade (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 2 cups blue sports drink (like Blue Gatorade or Powerade)
  • 1 cup water (optional, to adjust sweetness)
  • 4 cups ginger ale (chilled)
  • 2 cups water or extra lemonade (for ice ring)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • Optional: fresh mint sprigs for garnish
  • Optional: edible glitter or star-shaped ice cubes
  • Optional: lemon or lime slices, plastic spiders, gummy worms, dry ice

Instructions

  1. Make the Ice Ring (day before or at least 6 hours ahead): Arrange blueberries, raspberries, and mint leaves in the bottom of a bundt pan or ring mold. Pour in 2 cups of water or lemonade slowly. Freeze for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight. For best results, stir the fruit with a fork after 1 hour to keep it suspended.
  2. Prepare the Punch Base (on party day): In a large pitcher or mixing container, combine pineapple juice, lemonade, cranberry juice cocktail, and blue sports drink. Stir gently until fully mixed. The color should be a deep purple. If too sweet, add up to 1 cup of water. Cover and refrigerate until serving (up to 24 hours ahead).
  3. Assemble the Punch (right before serving): Pour the chilled punch base into a large punch bowl or cauldron. Slowly pour in the chilled ginger ale and stir gently to keep the fizz. Unmold the ice ring by running warm water over the outside of the bundt pan for about 10 seconds, then invert onto a plate and slide into the punch bowl. Add garnishes like lemon slices, plastic spiders, or gummy worms.
  4. Serve and Enjoy: Place a ladle in the bowl and let guests serve themselves. If using dry ice for a smoking effect, add it right before serving and follow safety instructions carefully. Refill as needed.

Notes

The ice ring can be made up to a week ahead and kept in the freezer wrapped in plastic wrap. The punch base can be made up to 24 hours ahead. Add ginger ale right before serving to keep the fizz. For adult version, set out vodka, white rum, or berry liqueur for guests to add. For low-sugar version, use sugar-free lemonade, diet cranberry juice, zero-sugar blue sports drink, and diet ginger ale. The punch base gets more flavorful as it sits in the fridge.
