These buttery, tangy, and slightly spicy pigs in a blanket are brushed with a ranch-seasoned butter glaze and baked to golden perfection. Ready in under 25 minutes, they’re the ultimate game day snack that disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (14 oz) mini smoked sausages (e.g., Hillshire Farm Lit’l Smokies)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the spicy ranch butter glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, ranch seasoning mix, hot sauce, and garlic powder (if using). Set aside.
  3. Prepare the crescent dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated dough, press the diagonal seams together to create one solid rectangle. Cut the dough into 8 triangles (if using perforated) or 8 rectangles (if using sheet dough). For smaller pieces, cut each triangle in half lengthwise to get 16 pieces.
  4. Roll the sausages: Place one mini sausage at the wide end of each dough piece. Roll it up tightly toward the pointed end, tucking the tip underneath. Place each rolled pig in a blanket seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  5. Brush with the glaze: Using a pastry brush, generously brush each pig in a blanket with the spicy ranch butter mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning (optional): If using, sprinkle a pinch over each piece while the glaze is still wet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the edges look crispy. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through for even browning.
  8. Let them rest for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a serving platter.
  9. Serve warm. These are best within 15 minutes of coming out of the oven.

Notes

For extra flavor, double the glaze and brush a second coat right out of the oven. Keep the dough cold for flakier layers. If edges brown too quickly, tent with foil for the last 3-4 minutes. Use parchment paper instead of foil for better browning.
