Crispy-edged, tender salmon bites coated in a sweet-savory honey garlic glaze, ready in just 20 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights or as a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1.5 lbs salmon fillets, skin removed, cut into 1.5-inch chunks
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 45 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil (avocado or grapeseed)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional garnishes: sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Remove any pin bones. Cut into 1.5-inch cubes. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  3. Place salmon cubes in a bowl and sprinkle cornstarch over them. Toss gently until each piece is lightly coated. Shake off excess.
  4. Heat a large non-stick or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add neutral oil and wait until shimmering.
  5. Carefully place salmon cubes in a single layer in the pan. Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook another 2 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat to low. Pour honey garlic sauce over salmon and toss gently with tongs. Let bubble and thicken for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove from heat immediately. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and lemon juice if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon very dry for best sear. Don’t crowd the pan. Add sauce on low heat to prevent burning. For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
