This Easy Friendsgiving Pumpkin Spice Punch is a sweet, spicy, and ridiculously easy drink that comes together in under ten minutes. Made with apple cider, cranberry juice, pumpkin puree, and a homemade spice blend, it’s the perfect crowd-pleaser for your fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups cranberry juice (unsweetened preferred)
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed, light or dark)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (real maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (pure vanilla)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice cubes (for serving)
  • Apple slices or cinnamon sticks (for garnish, optional)
  • Whipped cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the pumpkin spice base: In a medium saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, maple syrup, and all the spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and salt). Heat over medium-low and whisk constantly until smooth and the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Do not let it boil.
  2. Add the liquids: Slowly pour in the apple cider and cranberry juice while whisking. Continue whisking until the pumpkin is fully incorporated and the mixture is uniform.
  3. Heat through: Increase heat to medium and warm the mixture, stirring occasionally, until hot but not boiling (steam rises but no bubbles), about 5 minutes. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if desired.
  4. Stir in the vanilla: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Cool and chill: Let the mixture cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a pitcher or punch bowl. Refrigerate until completely chilled, at least 1 hour. (Alternatively, serve warm by skipping this step.)
  6. Serve over ice: Fill cups or glasses with ice, pour the chilled punch over the top, and garnish with apple slices or cinnamon sticks if desired. If serving warm, pour into mugs without ice.

Notes

For best flavor, make the punch a day ahead and refrigerate overnight; the spices meld together for a deeper taste. If serving a crowd, make two separate batches instead of doubling in one pot to ensure even spice distribution. For an adult version, add 1.5 oz bourbon or spiced rum per serving to individual cups.
