Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 2 tubes (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • Fresh celery sticks and carrot sticks for serving
  • Extra buffalo sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Make the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, buffalo wing sauce, and ranch dressing. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the chicken and cheese: Fold in the shredded chicken, 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, and the crumbled blue cheese if using. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Prepare the crescent roll dough: Unroll both tubes of crescent roll dough. Separate the dough into triangles along the perforated lines. You should have 16 triangles total.
  5. Arrange the triangles on the baking sheet: Place the triangles in a circle on your prepared baking sheet, with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the points pointing outward, creating a sunburst pattern. The wide ends should overlap by about 1-2 inches in the middle, forming a ring about 5-6 inches in diameter.
  6. Add the filling: Spoon the chicken mixture evenly around the ring, right on top of the wide ends of the triangles. Use an offset spatula or the back of a spoon to spread it into an even ring, leaving about 1/2 inch of dough exposed at the inner and outer edges.
  7. Fold the points over: One by one, lift the pointed ends of the crescent triangles and fold them over the filling, tucking the tips under the center ring to create a sealed ring with the filling peeking out slightly.
  8. Brush with butter: In a small bowl, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter. Using a pastry brush, brush the melted butter all over the top of the dough.
  9. Sprinkle with seasoning: If using, sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning over the top. Otherwise, a pinch of flaky sea salt works beautifully.
  10. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly. If the top is browning too quickly, tent loosely with foil for the last 5 minutes.
  11. Cool slightly: Let the ring cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes to allow the filling to set.
  12. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top while it’s still warm. Drizzle with extra buffalo sauce if desired. Arrange celery sticks and carrot sticks around the ring for dipping. Serve warm.

Notes

Don’t overfill the ring—keep filling about 1/2 inch thick. Use room temperature cream cheese for smooth blending. Parchment paper is essential for easy cleanup. Can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated; add 5 minutes to baking time. For a crowd, double the recipe and bake two rings.
